Hungary’s run at their first major champions since 1972 came to an end in the last-16 after they came across a speeding train in the form of Belgium. Goals from Toby Alderweireld, Batshuayi, Eden Hazard and Yannick Carrasco gave Belgium a comfortable victory. They next face Wales.

HUNGARY VS BELGIUM:

FULL TIME! Belgium have become the highest scorers at Euro 2016 with a 4-0 win. Goals from Alderweireld, Batshuayi, Hazard and Carrasco

90′ GOAL!! Carassco makes it 4-0 to Belgium! Once again Belgium are in a flash from their half and the Atletico man finishes it past Kiraly.

89′ Batshuayi (Belgium) is shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away. Needless and senseless that.

83′ Szalai has a guilt edge chance inside the box but it is somehow tipped over by Courtois or so believe the referees.

81′ And that’s the last contribution for Hazard and how fantastic has he been tonight. On comes Fellaini.

80′ GOAL! HAZARD SCORES! He was always threatening and now he gets on the scoresheet. Cuts in from the left, goes past three, to curl into bottom corner!

78′ GOAL!! Batshuayi has an open goal to open his tally! Hazard with a sublime ball into the center of the goal!

71′ Thumbs up!

68′ CLOSE! That’s threatening by Hungary. Juhász has a go from the right side and it is a shot-cross and goes flying across the face of the goal.

67′ Vermaelen booked. If Belgium reach the QF, he’d miss vs Wales.

66′ Pintér shimmies and takes it on the left foot from distance, takes a huge deflection but the tall frame of Courtois does enough to tip it over.

65′ Less than half an hour for Hungary to get the equaliser..

61′ Elek (Hungary) is shown a yellow card

60′ THAT VIEW!

56′ For the first time in the game, Belgium taking this a walking pace and not breathtaking long strides they were taking in the first half. Maybe it is the best idea as Hungary get some chances in.

51′ CHANCE! De Bruyne has a go form inside the box but he snatches at it and sends it easily wide of the target

47′ Lang (Hungary) is shown a yellow card.

46′ Hazard cuts in from the left and gets space on the right foot and unleashes a fierce shot which Kiraly tips over. At 40, Kiraly is totally athletic.

CHANGE: Elek (in) – Gera (out) (Hungary)

HALF TIME! No time added on and it is Belgium who lead 1-0 at the break thanks to a thumping header by Toby Alderweireld.

41′ SAVED! Mertens has plenty of time and space at the far post from a Hazard pass but the Napoli player hits it straight at Kiraly who saves it. In the ensuing attack, Belgium can’t get a proper shot on.

40′ CLOSE! Courtois once again at full stretch as Dzsudzsák goes close at the right post. The tall Belgium keeper may have had it covered though.

39′ CLOSE!! Lovrencsics goes mighty close for Hungary. His effort, though, is over the crossbar. Very good strike!

35′ CROSSBAR! De Bruyne’s free kick was going into the top corner but for a Kiraly finger tip to send it off the cross bar and out!

34′ Kádár (Hungary) is cautioned by the referee.

30′ CLOSE! Lukaku with an inch perfect cross to find an on-running De Bruyne into the box but the header is not trouble for Kiraly.

28′ OFFSIDE! Hazard is frustrated as he should be. He runs with the ball from his half and passes to Lukaku but the Everton striker is slow in relay a pass to the Chelsea player. First time through ball and it may have been 2-0.

24′ MISSED CHANCE! Lovely break down the right by Belgium and Mertens has plenty of space to make the most of with two Belgium shirts in the box but his cross is straight at the keeper.

23′ ATTEMPT! Dzsudzsák has a shot from distance after intricate passing by the Hungary attack but the shot outside the box doesn’t have the pace to hurt Courtois in goal.

21′ Lukaku using all his strength to hold off his defender and tees up Alderweireld who sends it sailing over the cross bar. Belgium not shy to take shots on tonight – 7 already inside 21 minutes with 4 on target.

16′ WHOOPS! Courtois slips on a back pass and it goes for a corner. Luckily for him, the ball wasn’t returned in front of the goal or that could have gone into the bloopers reel.

15′ CLOSE! De Bruyne’s shot is saved! The Manchester City man won’t be pleased with his effort after finding Hungary on the backfoot post a turnover and quick break.

13′ Marc Wilmots, in white and black, has a little celebration of his own. He knows it is too early to rejoice, especially against this Hungary side.

12′ Belgium have been knocking on the door and De Bruyne has looked threatening. The goal comes as no surprise.

9′ GOAL!! Alderweireld has Belgium in the lead! De Bruyne whips in a sumptuous free kick into the box and the big defender thumps the header in! 1-0!

7′ CHANCE! De Bruyne once again from outside the box, much nearer to the goal than the last, but his effort is easily saved by the keeper. Nice positive start to the game from Belgium.

6′ CLOSE! Not once but twice! First Lukaku can’t himself near a cross from the left but on the second chance he does and produces a save from Kiraly.

4′ Kevin De Bruyne has a go from distance but his right footed effort sails over the bar. All the positive signs from the Red Devils though.

1′ And we’re off in Toulouse. Hungary, in red, are attacking from left to right. Belgium in their second choice turquoise (Maybe? I am poor with non-traditional colours!) are from right to left.
