India couldn’t win any of the three games in Group A of the FIFA U-17 World Cup but still earned plenty of plaudits for the heart and courage shown during the week of action. India lost 0-4 to Ghana on Thursday to exit the tournament following defeats to USA (0-3) and Colombia (1-2).

Coming into the game against Ghana, India had a mathematical chance of going through provided USA beat Colombia and India beat Ghana by at least three goals. Unfortunately for the hosts, they maintained the tempo for much of the first half but defensive lapses hurt them plenty especially as the game went on. At half time, India trailed 0-1 and were still in with a tough shot but that window soon shut itself as the hosts tried to go forward to score leaving gaps at the back.
