The unstoppable run scoring spree for Indian Test Captain Virat Kohli continued on Sunday when he scored a double ton against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against England. Kohli became the only Indian player to score three double centuries in a calendar year after reaching the landmark. Earlier this year, he had scored a double century against West Indies when India toured the Caribbean Islands in June-July.
Kohli reached the landmark in 302 balls with 23 fours. India looked in trouble on the third day after losing a string of wickets in quick succession. But the captain played a brilliant knock and ensured that he takes his team well past the safe zone. After scoring, Kohli gave a smile and raised his bat towards the sky, while all the teammates back in the pavilion stood up to give a round of applause to his brilliant performance.
