Virat Kohli turned 28 on Saturday on November 5 and with some time before the first Test against England in Rajkot, the Test skipper found it a fitting time to enjoy and celebrate the occasion with his friends and family. The first Test begins on November 9 and the Indian team arrived in Rajkot also on Saturday including Kohli.
But first, Kohli had his share of celebrations at home where he cut a cake with blue icing highlighting the Indian colours and had Kohli written on it including the number ’18’ as per his jersey.
Kohli will lead India in the five match Test series against England and he comes into the series on the back of taking the national side to a 3-0 whitewash over New Zealand and then playing a key role in the 3-2 ODI series win.
Virat is believed to have taken an early morning flight from Delhi – where he was born and lives – for Rajkot to join his teammates and start preparations for what is a long series which also sees limited over matches in 2017.
The caption to the video, posted today, reads: “About Last Night #Friends #Family #Birthday”.
At the time of writing, the video posted on his official Facebook page had been seen over 400,000 times.
