Days after he was attacked by Bangladeshi supporters, Sudhir Gautam – the most visible Indian fan and an ardent Sachin Tendulkar supporter – will get tight security cover to avert any untoward incident.

Gautam will be travelling to the ground as the Indian team will be practicing for the third and final ODI scheduled to be held on Thursday.

The step was taken after Sudhir was attacked by a number of Bangladesh fans after the second ODI to avenge Bangladesh’s loss to India at the World Cup quarter-final.

Sudhir was horrified by the experience and was left shaken.

“When the match got over, and before the presentation, everyone around me had stood up on their seats. And I felt someone pushing me from behind. The crowd was animated so I quickly left the stands,” he told Wisden India.
