India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on Friday summoned by match referee Andy Pycroft for a hearing for shoving Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman during the first One-Day cricket International in Mirpur.

Pycroft has also summoned Mustafizur to listen to his side of the story and the outcome of the hearing will be known by this evening. The incident happened in the 25th over of the Indian innings when Dhoni found the pacer standing in his way while taking a run and he forcefully pushed Mustafizur to complete the single.

The bowler was hurt and had to temporarily retire without completing his spell.

“Skipper Dhoni along with administrative manager Biswarup Dey were present during the hearing. Now Mustafizur along with members of team management have gone into present their case. The Indian team management is hoping for Level I charge to be pressed against Dhoni so that it ends with a fine only. A Level 2 offence may lead to ban,” a source close to development told PTI.

Dhoni has recently been reprimanded in IPL for criticising umpire’s decision. His own form with the bat has also been patchy of late.

Is the law governing cricket too has to be ? It is common occurrence that bowlers invariably stand in the way of the batsman running for run. It is not to be defend Dhoni alone but batsmen as a w. We also know that unless the bowler wants to keep running down to the batting end, he is expected to have come to a stop somewhere on the track. The point is it is disrespect to stand in the way of someone who is running. It is true in street and should be true between the wicket too. Rather than the batsman changing course, it should be considered a rule that bowler not stand in the way. Hope sense prevails.

MS Dhoni is not in a fault. Not a 1%. You need to see the w sequence. 1. When Rohut Sharma, was playing, this MustafiUre, intentionally can in the way, it was clearly seen on the camera, even commentators also discussed this thing. So, Rohut Sharma warn him and Umpire has also seen the entire thing and matter settled down there. 2. While MS Dhoni came to play again this Mustafizure did the same thing, went to block the way while Dhoni was taking the run, while running MS very quick understand his intention, so why MS change his way while taking run. Again uprise seen this incident . Again commentator discussed this happen second time by this youn man Mustafizure. So, who is in fault, this Mustafizure keep on coming in the way intentionally and Indian Batsman just keep on seeing????? Bangladesh is hosting this series, so they have the respect for the guest country.
