Pakistan continued their domination over West Indies in limited over as they whitewashed the visitors 3-0 in the one-day international series. Pakistan beat the West Indies by a massive 136-run margin to claim the series win. Pakistan had earlier whitewashed West Indies in the T20 international series. In all the six limited overs matches, Pakistan have dominated West Indies and won them convincingly. In the third ODI, Pakistan decided to bat first and twin centuries propelled them to 308/6 in their 50 overs. Captain Azhar Ali scored a century but it was the hundred by Babar Azam that stood out. He scored his third consecutive ODI century in as many matches, only the third Pakistan batsman to do so and eighth over. He also broke the record for most runs in a three-match ODI series by scoring 360 runs and overtaking Quinton de Kock’s record of 342 runs. West Indies chase never got going as they lost early wickets and scored runs at a slow pace. Both teams will play a three-match Test series beginning October 13.

WICKET! Alzarri Joseph c Sohaib Malik b Wahab Riaz. 100 wickets in ODIs for Wahab Riaz. Commendable effort from the pacer. A bit quicker from him and short as well. Joseph’s pull stands up high and caught by Malik

vinaysiwach October 5, 201611:36 pm

WICKET ! Sulieman Benn c Haris Sohail b Mohammad Nawaz 0. Benn tries a reverse sweep of Nawaz but leading edge to short fine-leg. Sohail mis-judges the catch but takes it in the end

vinaysiwach October 5, 201611:33 pm

WICKET! Sunil Narine st Sarfraz Ahmed b Mohamaad Nawaz 0. Nawaz deceives Narine, who is out a long way from the crease. Sarfraz completes an easy stumping. Pakistan three wickets away from win

vinaysiwach October 5, 201611:29 pm

WICKET! Jason Holder b Imad Wasim 26. Big slog from Holder but the ball was drifted into the batsman. Not a good shot from Holder. He is cleaned up by Imad and Pakistan need only 4 more wickets

vinaysiwach October 5, 201611:10 pm

35 overs done and West Indies crawling in the chase. They are 144 for 5 and need another 165 runs to win from 90 balls

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:48 pm

WICKET! Kieron Pollard c Shoaib Malik b Mohammad Nawaz. Pollard tries to clear the boundary but fails to connect properly. Malik from long-off runs in and takes a good low catch with a tumble. West Indies 5 down

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:37 pm

Halfway in the West Indies chase. They are 103 for the loss of four wickets. 206 runs still needed with only six wickets in hand. Can the Windies avoid a series whitewash?

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:22 pm

WICKET! Marlon Samuels run out Mohammad Rizwan 13. This is ridiculous. Denesh Ramdin sets off for a run after hitting it to point. Turns back mid-way to leave Samuels in no choice but to be run-out. Samuels is already half-way. Rizwan fields the ball and dislodges the bails himself. Samuels has to go

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:15 pm

WICKET! Darren Bravo c Sarfraz Ahmed b Wahab Riaz 17. Extra pace from Wahab which is at an awkward height for Bravo. He tries to run it down the third man but edges it behind. Dismissed for 17

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:13 pm

20 overs gone in the Indies innings and they are 83/1. The required run-rate is climbing but they have wickets in hand. Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo at the crease

vinaysiwach October 5, 201610:05 pm

WICKET! Kraigg Brathwaite LBW b Shoaib Malik. Brathwaite trying to tuck that ball but big spin on it by Malik. Umpire says out but batsman reviews it. All three red and he has to go

vinaysiwach October 5, 20169:50 pm

15 overs gone and West Indies are trying to keep wickets in hand. They are 61/1 and Brathwaite and Darren Bravo are out in the middle for them

vinaysiwach October 5, 20169:27 pm

WICKET! Evin Lewis b Harris Sohail 22. Sohail keeps the umpires out of it. Pitches it outside the leg-stump line and Lewis plays for the angle across but it swings back into the left-hander. Lewis, who has shuffled across, is bowled around his legs

vinaysiwach October 5, 20169:20 pm

West Indies off to a cautious start with Brathwaite and Lewis. After eight overs, the score in 38/0. They are chasing 309 runs to win this game and avoid a series whitewash

Express Guest October 5, 20169:01 pm

With four overs gone, West Indies 17/0. Couple of fours saved by the Pakistani fielders. Not much risk taken by the WI openers. Brathwaite 14* and Lewis batting at 3

Express Guest October 5, 20168:45 pm

Kraigg Brathwaite and Evin Lewis to open for West Indies. Pakistan skipper hands the ball to Imad Wasim to bowl the first over.

vinaysiwach October 5, 20168:11 pm

Pakistan finish with 308/6 in their 50 overs against West Indies. They could have scored a lot more but slowed down in the last 15 overs. Still, they will be favourites against West Indies

Pakistan finish with 308/6 in their 50 overs against West Indies. They could have scored a lot more but slowed down in the last 15 overs. Still, they will be favourites against West Indies

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:59 pm

WICKET! Imad Wasim falls on the final ball of the 49th over. A short ball and Imad plays a higher-bat pull shot which is straight to deep mid-wicket. Darren Bravo takes the catch

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:54 pm

300 up for Pakistan in the 49th over. 10 balls remaining in the innings. Boundaries dried up in the last 11 overs which has hurt the scoring rate

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:51 pm

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:45 pm

WICKET! Mohammad Rizwan LBW b Alzarri Joseph 4. That was a very late decision. Ball hits Rizwan on the flap of the pads and umpire takes a lot of time to give that out. Rizwan reviews

Ball clipping the top of middle stump and the on-field call is upheld

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:39 pm

WICKET! Babar Azam b Kieron Pollard 117. 50th ODI wicket for Pollard. Azam shuffles across to scoop it but no connection between bat and bowled and Pollard hits the leg-stump. A standing ovation from the dressing room to Azam

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:36 pm

Babar Azam is the second youngest batsman to score three consecutive hundreds. Youngest is Quinton de Kock, who did it against India at the age of 20

Azam now the highest run-scorer in a three-match ODI series. Overtakes De Kock’s 342 runs

vinaysiwach October 5, 20167:28 pm

HUNDRED! Babar Azam has done it. Three consecutive hundreds in three ODIs. He is only the third Pakistan batsman to do so. Brilliant batting from the youngster. Captain Sarfraz embraces him

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20167:20 pm

GONE! Sunil Narine’s delivery turns away from Shoaib Malik and the Pakistan batsman bottom-edges it behind to Denesh Ramdin. That’s two quick wickets for West Indies

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20167:04 pm

GONE! Azhar Ali’s attempt at accelerating the innings goes in vain. Goes down the track but fails to read the slower one and has his off stump clipped by Jason Holder. Pakistan are 232/2

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20166:59 pm

HUNDRED! Azhar Ali punches the air in celebration to bring up his third ODI hundred, becomes first Pakistani captain to reach the milestone. A late cut to Sulieman Benn and easily take three

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20166:55 pm

FOUR! Babar Azam with a well-directed cut to beat the gap between point and short third man. The understanding of the ball and the pace on offer really good to leave that late and get a four. Azam now on 81 from 76

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20166:39 pm

FOUR! Babar Azam connects from the middle of the bat to go over the infield towards wide long-off and it goes beyond the rope on the bounce. Brings up Pakistan’s 200 in the 33rd over. Really good batting this. Maintains his balance and head for a smooth stroke

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20166:25 pm

Babar Azam glances one through the hips for a single and raises his bat for a third straight fifty-plus score. The two previous ones went on to become centuries. Third’s a charm?

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20166:07 pm

OUTSIDE EDGE! Babar Azam goes for a drive but the Shannon Gabriel delivery maintains its line and ekes out an outside edge. But it is not taken by the keeper and goes for a four down third man. Pakistan go beyond 150 now in the 26th over

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20165:53 pm

CHANCE! Azhar Ali’s top edged short falls right in between the fielder at short midwicket running back and mid-on moving to the right. Although, West Indies in their prime and oozing confidence would have leaped on that. Short midwicket fielder with the better chance of reaching that

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20165:40 pm

FIFTY! Azhar Ali tucks the Sunil Narine delivery on the on-side to gather a quick single and brings up his 50.

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20165:37 pm

Azhar with an effective sweep to pick up a single and bring up Pakistan’s 100 after 19.1 overs

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20165:29 pm

Babar Azam is the new batsman in for Pakistan. He’s on a two match hundred streak. The hosts would expect much of the same from him once again

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20165:25 pm

GONE! Sharjeel Khan sends the ball travelling off Sulieman Benn but it is taken by Alzarri Joseph at long-on. Breakthrough for West Indies and Pakistan are 85/1

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:58 pm

Sharjeel Khan with a comfortable punch and it is through backward point for a four. Brings up Pakistan’s 50 in the sixth over.

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:50 pm

Poor first two overs by Shannon Gabriel. Not maintaining line or length and allowing Pakistan’s opening pair to score at will. His first two overs go for 9 and 13 – two boundaries in both

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:38 pm

The usual suspects in Azhar Ali and Sharjeel Khan in the middle for Pakistan. First over, by Alzarri Joseph, produces eight runs. Last ball of the over goes for a four off Azhar Ali’s bat

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:16 pm

West Indies XI: Kraigg Brathwaite, Evin Lewis, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder (capt.), Shannon Gabriel, Sunil Narine, Sulieman Benn, Alzarri Joseph

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:16 pm

Pakistan XI: Azhar Ali (capt), Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Hasan Ali

Tanuj Lakhina October 5, 20164:15 pm

TOSS: Pakistan have won the toss and they’re batting first

One change for Pakistan: Mohammad Amir who has returned home to his sick mother has been replaced by Sohail Khan.

Two changes for West Indies: Shannon Gabriel in for Carlos Brathwaite and Evin Lewis for Johnson Charles

Babar Azam second consecutive ton sets up series win for Pakistan

Babar Azam hit his second successive century as Pakistan beat the West Indies by 59 runs on Sunday in the second one-day international for an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Azam followed his hundred in the first ODI with 123 off 126 balls in Pakistan’s highest ODI total of 337-5 against the West Indies.

Darren Bravo (61) and Marlon Samuels (57) were the main beneficiaries of Pakistan’s dismal catching, with West Indies ending on 278-7.

Earlier, Azam and Shoaib Malik, who scored 90 off 84 balls with five sixes off Sulieman Benn, powered Pakistan with a record third-wicket stand of 169.

Sarfraz Ahmed hit an undefeated 60 off 47 balls to give Pakistan’s innings a perfect finish with Carlos Brathwaite and debutant Alzarri Joseph claiming two wickets each.
