Virat Kohli would not have minded coming out to bat after Cheteshwar Pujara fell with India needing only 16 runs to win the third Test in Mohali. The feeling of playing the winning shot is always special for any players. Though Kohli did not play the winning shot for India to win the match, he did enjoy it when Parthiv Patel smashed one for four through covers to give India the win.
Kohli has always been the most expressive players on the field and he did not hide his emotions when Parthiv hit that shot. Parthiv made an unbeaten 67 off just 54 balls to help India chase down the 103-run target in quick time.
Before this, the India bowlers were brilliant in bowling out England for 236 in the second innings. This set India only a 103-run target. Only Joe Root and Haseeb Hameed could score half-centuries.
R Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers in the second innings of England. He picked up three wickets, all on Monday, while Jayant Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets each.
You can watch the winnings moments for India in this video. Kohli is clearly ecstatic and Parthiv could not have had a better comeback to the Indian team.
Both teams travel to Mumbai for fourth Test that begins on December 8.
