Fawad, who was in New Delhi for the promotions of his upcoming Bollywood film Kapoor & Sons, told reporters : “It is a fact, as I have travelled with him (Shahid Afridi) and seen it for myself the kind of love he gets from Indian fans. I think he was really trying to easen out the atmosphere. I think the statement has been read out of context. And I think if such a controversy has erupted because of this then this is just momentary and it will die down. He is a very proud Pakistani and we are very proud to have him as a representative of our country.”

On being asked about the upcoming India-Pakistan match in T 20 World Cup, Fawad said it is the most awaited matches all over the world and is nice and fun to watch the match.

“I think India Vs Pakistan is one of the most exciting matches to watch. It is a nice and fun competition. I used to take it really seriously when I was a child but now things have changed. I, atleast, take it in stride and see it as  competition. But the competition itself should be filled with lots of fun,” he added.

India will play Pakistan at the famous Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 19.
