A small crowd cheered the Pakistan women’s team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday against West Indies in a ICC Women’s World T20 match.

Pakistan were chasing a small total of 104 and openers Sidra Ameen and Javeria Khan came out to bat. But on the fifth ball of the Shamilia Connell over, a ball rose and hit Javeria on the jaw. Sidra instantly signalled towards the Pakistan camp for a stretcher.

After some moments of uncertainty, Javeria, unconscious after the hit, was taken-off the field on the stretcher and then to the hospital for a CT scan. The scan revealed that everything was alright. But she will be kept under observation for one more day.

The Pakistan chase was on track but West Indies bowler made sure to put it off-track. In the end, Pakistan lost five wickets and fell short by fours runs.
