Dale Steyn uploaded the South African team pick on his instagram account celebrating his team’s 5-0 thrashing of Australia. The hosts beat Australia in the final ODI at Cape Town on Thursday to complete the whitewash.

South Africa dominated Australia throughout the series. This also included a thriller at Kingsmeade where Australia were unable to defend 371. South Africa struggled at the start of the run-chase but went on to win the match on the back of a brilliant innings played by David Miller.

“Super squad. Thank you to the team behind the team. Always a smile and always there to help, the boys appreciate all you guys do for us and these victories are as much yours as it is ours. 5-0 is crazy, I’ve woken up super proud today, well done men! Thanx to the Aussies, always great playing you boys, travel safe and look forward to a massive series down under! Cheers,” said Steyn in the post.

South Africa were initially dealt a major blow with AB de Villiers having to miss the series due to an injury. They were eventually given a boost when Dale Steyn was brought back to the team after a prolonged absence from the ODI setup.
