CBI has initiated a preliminary enquiry against six cricket players of Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) who had allegedly fudged their birth records to be able to play in lower age group matches.
The inquiry will also look into the role of unknown persons and players who could be part of the conspiracy, sources said, without revealing the identity of the six players.
They said the players in alleged collusion with unknown persons manipulated their date of birth records and submitted the manipulated records to get them registered with DDCA.
This was done with a view to hide their actual age and compete in lower age group categories to get best results, they said.
