India wrapped up the Test series against New Zealand with a 3-0 whitewash and it was a dominant clean-sweep indeed by margins of 197 runs, 178 runs and then 321 runs in Indore. The win proved to be the first clean-sweep for India skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli also added to his individual accolades with a double hundred to his name – his second in the year – having already scored a double ton against West Indies in the Caribbean.

Post that win, India were officially the new top-ranked ICC Test team and Kohli was handed the Test mace by former India skipper and legend Sunil Gavaskar at the post-match ceremony in Indore.

The win allowed the team to celebrate and then gave Kohli a chance to unwind – if only momentarily before shifting focus to the One Day Internationals (ODIs) against the Kiwis.

During this one-day layoff, Kohli spent time with his beloved dog and enjoying home-cooked food. He wrote on Twitter in response to the break as, “Happiness is spending the extra day at home & eating home food. On my way home for a night. Thank you for the wishes & love everyone,” with a thumbs up picture.

Later he posted a picture with his dog with the caption, “Love being lazy at home with this naughty little dynamite. Unconditional Love.”

And with the day off done, he set about for Dharamsala from his home in Delhi. “Off to the airport to leave for Dharamshala. Beautiful sunny day today,” read his Tweet in relation.

The Indian batsman devoured the warm breath of sunlight that Dharamsala provides with a message reading, “Love coming here always. Being close to the nature is so peaceful.”

India open the five-match ODI series against New Zealand on Sunday with MS Dhoni leading the side. The Kiwis have also made their way from Indore-via Delhi-for Dharamsala.

New Zealand would be aiming to reverse their fate and provide a tough fight to the hosts in the limited over game.
