The brother-sister duo from Army Public School camp, Digvijay Dhayal and Khushbu Dhayal, won one gold and two silver medals in archery in Asia Cup, stage 2, held in Taiwan from September 8 to 13. The Indian team won 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals to become overall winners in the tournament.
Digvijay Dhayal who is 14 years old was the youngest player of the event and scored 693 to stand second. He won the gold medal in the mixed team with Jyoti Surekha by defeating Chinese Taipei in the finals. The score was 146-133. They had defeated Vietnam in the semifinals by 157-148. This gold is Dhayal’s first international medal.
He went on to win the silver medal in the boys team event, with Aman Saini and Dingku Singh, by defeating Malaysia in the semifinals.
Khushbu Dhayal won the silver medal with Jyoti and Purvasha Shende in the girls team in the compound archery event by defeating Hong Kong in the semifinals.
