Pune: After quarrel with father, youth damages vehicles parked on road at Janwadi

After a dispute with his father, an unemployed youth went on a rampage, damaging vehicles parked on the road in Janwadi in the early hours of Sunday.

AFTER A dispute with his father, an unemployed youth went on a rampage, damaging vehicles parked on the road in Janwadi in the early hours of Sunday. Police have arrested the youth identified as Dhiraj Shankar Katikar (22), a resident of Janwadi.

Kisansingh Rameshsingh Rajput (28) of Janwadi lodged a complaint in this case at the Chaturshringi police station. Police sub inspector V M Koli is investigating the case.

Koli said that Dhiraj is a school dropout. “He left school after Class VI and was jobless. His father was upset about it. This led to a quarrel between the father and son on Saturday night. Dhiraj got so angry that he left home and then went on damaging the vehicles parked on the road around 4.30 am.”

Police said that he damaged motorcycles owned by Rajput and Rohit Rajendra Motling, an auto rickshaw owned by Dastagir Abdul Sayyad and cars owned by Narsinh Daulatrao Mahindrakar and Farid Jabbar Maniyar. Police has booked him under various sections of IPC. He was produced before a magistrate court on Monday. Police said that the court granted bail to Dhiraj.
