Even as the four dams supplying water to the city are running full and water has been released from Khadakwasla dam in August and September, the state government is still mulling over the policy to reserve a quota of drinking water for Pune till August 31 next year instead of July 31. The proposal was mooted couple of months ago but is pending with the government.

While there has been continuous release of water with the dams filling up as against shortage where water was released only once, the planners are hoping that by the end of September, a decision will be taken on reserving water for next year.
