Gurugram: Rs 35 lakh seized in demonetised 1,000 notes from Mercedes car

The money was recovered from the trunk of the car on checking.

Gurugram police arrested three men and seized Rs 35 lakh in demonetised notes of Rs 1,000 from their car early Tuesday. The police team at Sector 29, Gurugram, flagged a Mercedes car around 4.30 am in which the three men were travelling. Upon checking, they recovered the money from the trunk of the car. Police said the seized notes were most likely black money.

According to police, the three men have been identified as Nikhil from Palwal, Anurag from Ahmadpur district and Haridwar who is currently siding in Saket, Delhi.

The income tax department has been notified to take necessary action.
