Four killed, 15 injured as tempo turns turtle in Vadodara

Three persons were killed on the spot, while one person died in Sir Sayjirao General (SSG) Hospital where he was admitted soon after the accident.

Four people were killed and as many as 15 severely injured when a tempo carrying 32 people turned turtle near Jepura village of the Savli taluka in Vadodara. The accident occurred around 1 am district on Wednesday night when the tempo was coming from Jambughoda town of Panchmahal district. According to the Savli police, the tempo driver lost control of the vehicle near Jepura village of Savli taluka. “Tempo was carrying around 32 passengers mostly from Jambughoda was on his way to Rajkot. We have booked the driver and and have started the probe to nab the driver” said Savli Police Official.

Those injured have been admitted to general hospital in Halol. The deceased have been identified as Gordhan Nayak (30) Pratap Nayak (40), Dilip Nayak (25) and Mahesh Nayak. Police has booked the driver under section 279 (Rash driving public way), 337(Causing hurt by act endangering life), 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life) and the under section 177, 184, 134 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
