Wheat prices rose further by Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on increased demand from stockists and flour mills against tight supplies.
However,non-basmati rice moved down on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.
Traders said rising demand from stockists and flour mills against tight supplies mainly led an upsurge in wheat prices.
“Speculative buying by stockists and paucity of ready stocks in the market following restricted supplies mainly responsible for the persistent rise in wheat prices,” said a
wholesale wheat merchant.
