The UP Police want credit for the recent revelations made by police forces of other states that Ahmedabad,Jaipur,Bangalore and the Mumbai terror attacks accused have alleged links with Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to The Indian Express,Additional Director General of Police (Law and order) Brij Lal on Saturday,claimed for the first time that it was the UP Police which had arrested and interrogated terrorists like Fahim Ansari,Abu Hamza,Sabauddin,Sahbaz and Abu Bashr and handed them to various state police. “The police forces of other states are now establishing their links with these attacks,” he added.

“We had arrested Fahim Ansari on February 12,2008. We found maps of various places of Mumbai with him which we handed over to the Mumbai Police,” said Lal. He said the Mumbai Police hasn’t given the state police due credit for the arrest.
