The Election Commission has expressed “severe displeasure” over violation of the code of conduct by MP minister Kailash Vijayvargiya after taking into account the regret he expressed. It also asked him to be careful about his selection of words. Following a complaint against him for distributing money to drummers at a Dussehra function, the BJP leader had used a Hindi idiom to express his contempt for a code of conduct that does not respect tradition. He wrote to the commission that distributing money was part of a tradition and does not violate the code. The commission said he had ridiculed the code by attempting to juxtapose it with tradition.
