Rejecting Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s appeal,MDMK leader Vaiko will go ahead with his planned black flag demonstration against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his proposed visit to Sanchi in that state.

Vaiko will leave for Sanchi on Monday afternoon,an MDMK spokesperson said. Around 1,000 supporters will accompany Vaiko,he said,adding Vaiko would protest against Rajapaksa’s participation in a Buddhist function at Sanchi on September 21. Chouhan on Sunday wrote to Vaiko asking him to drop the protest,insisting Rajapaksa’s visit should be seen as an attempt to promote harmony.
