The UP government transferred Home Secretary Sarvesh Chandra Mishra and suspended a section officer for issuing a controversial letter mistakenly mentioning the subject of a meeting between the police and administration officers October 14 as “to discuss the construction of a temple at Ramjanmabhoomi”.

The letter issued by Mishra was actually meant for calling officers for a meeting with Principal Secretary (Home) R M Srivastava to discuss a ban on VHP’s proposed Sankalp Divas in Ayodhya on October 18.
