In the dock for virtually abducting Gonda CMO S P Singh and threatening him to change select list of contractual Ayush doctors,Minister of State for Revenue Vinod Kumar Singh alias Pandit Singh on Thursday accused Agriculture Minister Raja Anand Singh of conspiring against him to malign his image by creating a controversy.

Both Vinod Kumar Singh and Raja Anand Singh hail from Gonda. With this,the infighting in the Samajwadi Party in the district has come out into the open.

“The incident was stage-managed by Anand Singh who,despite being in the same party,is my political adversary. He has done this to harm me politically,” Vinod Kumar Singh told The Indian Express.

The minister,who presented his case to the SP leaders,said,“He conspired with Gonda District Magistrate Abhay and implicated me in the incident.”

Vinod Kumar Singh admitted he had gone to the CMO’s residence on Monday night.

India fully with Lankan Tamils,PM tells Tamil National Alliance

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday assured the visiting Sri Lankan Tamil leadership that India will work with Colombo towards devolution of powers and a

solution acceptable to all in the island nation. This was conveyed to the Tamil National Alliance leaders in a meeting with Singh.

“He told us India is fully with the Lankan Tamils and would continue to engage with TNA,” delegation leader R Sampanthan said.

Sampanthan said they would consider joining the Parliamentary Select Committee on finding a political solution provided Sri Lanka assures they would not be “cheated again”.
