Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and her lover Michael vanquished the evil Vampire Elder Marcus. The film,a sequel to Underworld Evolution, opens with Selene finding out that her beloved Michael is dead. Her grief is soon overshadowed as she discovers that she is carrying Michael’s child.

Selene seeks asylum for herself and her child only to find herself back in the troubled world in which members of her tribe had become extinct.

The buzz

Set 15 years after its prequel,Underworld Awakening has new characters. Selene’s character gets rougher in this film. Unlike the prequel,Underworld Evolution that was a mythological drama, the sequel is set in the world of a science-fiction.

* Underworld Awakening is one of the first movies to be shot using red epic digital cameras in 3D
