Tutor accused of abducting teen in UP

The father of a 14-year-old student of the City Montessori School here has lodged a complaint with the police accusing his son’s 35-year-old tutor of “luring” and kidnapping him. Both the boy and the tutor,Sonal Mathur,are missing since Saturday.

Mathur’s nine-year-old son is also missing. The police claimed to have traced the mobile phones of both Mathur and the boy till Kanpur.

A Class IX student,the boy went to Mathur’s house,near his house in Rajajipuram,for tuitions. Last Saturday too,he left home around 9.30 am for his classes,but did not return,his father has said in the complaint filed at Tal Katora police station.

The boy’s father said that Mathur’s husband Sharad told him that his son did not come for tuitions that day and that his wife too had been missing along with their son.

Station Officer Vinod Yadav said Mathur had an argument with her husband the day before she went missing. He also said that she frequently talked to the boy over the phone,which caused the fight. Call details show Mathur and the boy talked to each other for about 25 minutes before they went missing,police said.

Yadav said they also had CCTV footage from an ATM booth in Rajajipuram,in which Mathur is seen withdrawing Rs 25,000 and the two are together. Mathur’s phone was briefly switched on in Kolkata two days ago before being turned off again.
