Amit Shah: The then minister of state (home),who is also an accused in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case,allegedly plotted with Gujarat Police to eliminate Tulsiram Prajapati,who along with Kauser Bi,was an eyewitness to Sohrabuddin’s encounter killing. Out on bail in the Sohrabuddin case,Shah was barred from entering Gujarat by the Supreme Court. Shah was a confidant of CM Narendra Modi.

P C Pande: The former DGP allegedly knew of the plot to kill Tulsiram,a close aide of alleged gangster Sohrabuddin. Pande is also facing allegations of inaction during post-Godhra riots of 2002.

Geetha Johri: As an IG in CID,she probed the Sohrabuddin encounter case in 2006,the year Tulsiram was killed in an encounter. Johri,now an ADGP,is accused of shielding Amit Shah and preventing police officers from establishing links between the encounter killings of Sohrabuddin and Tulsiram. She had allegedly claimed in her report that the third person travelling with Sohrabuddin and wife Kauser Bi in a bus was one Nayimuddin from Hyderabad,and not Tulsiram. Sohrabuddin was allegedly picked up by a Gujarat Police team from a Sangli-bound bus.

O P Mathur: The then ADGP (CID) was supervising the Sohrabuddin encounter probe. He allegedly suppressed the evidence linking the two encounters and put pressure on Johri to protect some powerful people.

D G Vanzara: The then deputy IG with Border Range is accused of conspiring with the then Udaipur SP Dinesh M N to kill Tulsiram in an encounter. Already suspended and lodged in

Sabarmati Central Jail in the Sohrabuddin case,he has recently been in the news for collecting certificates in value education and spirituality through distance learning.

Rajkumar Pandian: The then SP with Gujarat ATS was allegedly involved in taking custody of Tulsiram from Rajasthan STF that had brought him to an Ahmedabad court for a hearing in a case related to firing at the office of Popular Builders in the city.

Dinesh M N: The then Udaipur SP allegedly conspired with the Gujarat Police to send Tulsiram to Ahmedabad for a court hearing. Dinesh had formed a special police team that escorted the gangster and were allegedly instrumental in his killing.

Vipul Aggarwal: The then Banaskantha SP allegedly played a key role in planning and managing the logistics for the encounter with the help of his Special Operations Group in Banaskantha.

Ramanbhai Kodarbhai Patel: The then DySP (CID) probed the Tulsiram case in 2011 while CBI was probing the Sohrabuddin encounter case. Patel is accused of shielding the Sohrabuddin accused and not producing substantial evidence before the court to cover up the motive behind Tulsiram’s killing.

Ashish Pandya: The then sub-inspector in Special Operations Group allegedly shot at Tulsiram along with his team members. Pandya has since confessed to the same,saying he acted on directions from Vipul Aggarwal.
