The Hyderabad Police has registered a complaint after actress Anjali reportedly went ‘missing’ from outside a posh hotel in Jubilee Hills on Monday morning. Anjali, who has acted in 25 Telugu and Tamil films, was last seen by the hotel staff leaving in a car in a hurry.

Police said that Anjali, who was shooting for a Tamil film in Chennai, arrived on Sunday and checked into the hotel. CCTV footage shows her talking over her mobile phone several times, darting in and out of her room. Then, she left her room in a hurry and got into a car that came to pick her up.

After that she was not seen and her mobile phone is switched off. While Tamil film director Kalan Jayam first alerted relatives that she failed to turn up for a shoot in Chennai Tuesday, her brother Ravi Shankar lodged a missing complaint. However,on Wednesday he claimed Anjali called their mother and said that she was safe and that they should withdraw the missing complaint. “Unless we see her,we won’t withdraw the complaint. She may have been kidnapped, who knows,” he said.

The police are going through her phone records and questioning friends and Tollywood contacts. Anjali had on Monday called up friends and journalist contacts in Chennai and complained that director Kalan Jayam and her aunt Bharathi Devi were trying to control her life and were misusing her money.
