Taxman asks Lalu for rally expenses info

The Income-Tax department on Friday sought details of expenses incurred on Rashtriya Janata Dal’s parivartan rally,which was held in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on May 15.

The Income-Tax department on Friday sought details of expenses incurred on Rashtriya Janata Dal’s parivartan rally,which was held in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on May 15.

The Income Tax department has asked the RJD of former chief minister Lalu Prasad to give specific details of the expenses the party bore on transportation,food and lodging arrangements as well as advertisements for rally and sundry expenses.

RJD spokesperson Randhir Yadav said,“It is a standard procedure after every political rally. We have not been served any notice. It is only about giving details. In any case,we file I-T returns.”
