When it comes to rivalries, very few can match the intensity of political parties in Tamil Nadu. Their resolve in opposing each other was repeatedly on show during the just concluded Parliament session when there were hilarious incidents of the DMK or AIADMK members rising in protest even before their rivals could start speaking. In one particular instance during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, the moment AIADMK members raised the issue of a police crackdown on Chennai lawyers, the DMK members were on their feet, protesting. So much so that A Raja rushed towards the well of the House trying to shout down the AIADMK benches, forgetting for a minute that he was a minister and not just an ordinary member. Only when reminded of this fact by the chair did he take his seat. So frustrated was deputy chairperson K Rehman Khan with the repeated tussles between the two parties that he was forced to remark that it was Zero Hour and not Tamil Nadu Hour.
