Maytas Infra,the infrastructure firm promoted by the family of Satyam founder and former chairman B Ramalinga Raju,which will also be probed by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO),had bagged 54 projects across 12 states. The ISO 9001-2000 company is into construction and development of infrastructure projects including roads,highways,expressways,irrigation projects,thermal and hydel power projects besides residential buildings and construction of ports and rail projects.

A majority of these projects are in Andhra Pradesh including the second largest contract in terms of value,while the rest are spread in UP,Maharashtra,J&K,Orissa,Andaman and Nicobar,Himachal Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Karnataka,Assam and Kerala. Maytas Infra is promoted by the family of B Ramalinga Raju and his son B Teja Raju is the vice-chairman of the company.

Maytas Infra-led joint ventures have been awarded lift-irrigation projects mostly under the gigantic Rs 55,000 crore Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme. Maytas was awarded close to Rs 10,000 crore worth of projects in this scheme. The AP government launched the Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme to irrigate 12,20,000 acres in drought prone areas of Telangana Region. The civil works are being done under various packages in various districts. Maytas bagged Rs. 215.47 crores worth of contracts in Package-2 in a joint venture with NCC. Maytas Infra’s share is 50%.

Maytas Infra bagged the entire construction project in Package 5 of Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme valued at Rs 3,636 crores after bidding in joint venture with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd,Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) and Andritz. Maytas Infra’s share of participation is 15%. Maytas was also awarded the entire Package-7 of Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme valued at Rs 2,119 crore after bidding in the same joint venture but Maytas Infra is the lead partner with a share of 65%.

Maytas Infra formed a consortium with public sector giant Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd,Mega Engineering Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) and SEW Infrastructure Ltd to bag the second largest order in the history of A.P Irrigation. The project under Package 8 of Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme worth Rs. 3,271 crores. Maytas Infra’s share is 20%,which amounts to Rs 654.22 crore.
