As the elections get near,senior BJP leaders are fighting it harder and harder to conceal their desire for the top job. After Bhairon Singh Shekhawat threw his hat in the ring and Narendra Modi had his thrown in with some excellent recommendations,Murli Manohar Joshi has indicated that he was far from being counted out of the picture. At a party lunch at the headquarters recently,someone remarked that the man whose ticket had been “wait-listed” (PM-in-waiting L K Advani) had not arrived yet. Joshi was quick to reply: “Mine is a confirmed ticket.” While that may have been in reference to his candidature from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency,few doubted that the jibe was meant for Advani.
