Spark Fellowship Programme launched

In a bid to help young professionals combine their educational and professional backgrounds with socially relevant work,the BAIF Development Research Foundation has launched the Spark Fellowship Programme.

In a bid to help young professionals combine their educational and professional backgrounds with socially relevant work,the BAIF Development Research Foundation has launched the Spark Fellowship Programme.

Fellows will be supported financially for up to one year and will work on projects in different thematic areas like Environment/Biodiversity,Biotechnology and Education,said a press release issued here.

Graduates from any stream can apply. Field work will be combined with specially designed learning inputs and support from domain experts and mentors.

BAIF has been working in twelve states of India,including 28 districts of Maharashtra,in the areas of rural livelihood,livestock development,natural resource management,environmental restoration and improved quality of life.

BAIF will be awarding 10 fellowships for the year 2010-11. It will be a fulltime fellowship for upto one year. Graduates/Post graduates from any discipline with a passion and commitment to take up socially relevant work in identified thematic areas and who fall in the age group 20 to 30 years,can apply for the Spark fellowship. Details on the fellowship programme,eligibility and application form,are available at http://www.baif.org.in . The last date for application is August 31.
