The actress, for whom dressing is an art, lists her top five designers.

The prêt queen
I find Anamika Khanna’s designs amazing as she specialises in prêt and couture. The look of her garments are global, with a hint of Indian ethnicity. Every outfit from Khanna’s clothesline is original and very stylish. I totally love that about her design.

The woman’s man
If someone knows how to dress a woman it has to be designer Manish Malhotra. Malhotra’s western designs are great but his Indian clothes are completely out of this world. His designs are unique and can be easily inimitable when it comes to his creations for films. His style displays a rich lush of colours.

Simple but out-of-the-box
Anuradha Vakil is a designer who can make even the simplest piece of clothing look extremely grand. She works mainly with hand-woven natural fibres and every piece is unusual and timeless. I love the fact that her focus is on the fabric and prints.

The creative man
Rohit Bal is amazing. He’s extremely creative and designs some really beautiful clothes. He uses pastels and earthy tones with sophisticated cuts. He’s also very original in his creations both for men and women.

Contemporarily ethnic
Abu-Sandeep’s forte is moulding contemporary style with ethnic material, resulting in clothing with a fresh flavour. They are geniuses when it comes to traditional wear. They have made some of the grandest Indian wear for celebrities.
