A 6-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped on Monday and gangraped in Jind district in Haryana.

While the medical examination conducted by the civil hospital did not show signs of rape,a private clinic indicated there was a possibility that she has been sexually assaulted.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped by three unidentified persons from near Ramlila Ground. The police were informed and about an hour later, she was found near Devi Lal chowk — 3 km from where she was kidnapped.

According to the police, the child was immediately taken to the Jind Civil Hospital for medical examination. “The child was absolutely fine and there was no indication of any kind of sexual assault on her. The medical was conducted in presence of the child’s parents, after which they took her home. However, this morning, they are saying that the child had developed some complications and complained of pain,” said a Jind district police spokesperson. He added: “She was taken to a private clinic, where the doctor indicated that there was a possibility that she has been sexually assaulted.” While the police have registered a case of kidnapping, charges of rape are yet to be added.
