Six Rajasthan officers sign up for expedition to Mt Everest

Following in the footsteps of Sikkim IAS officer Ravindra Kumar who scaled the Everest some months ago,six IAS officers from Rajasthan have signed up for the Indo-Nepal Mount Everest

Following in the footsteps of Sikkim IAS officer Ravindra Kumar who scaled the Everest some months ago,six IAS officers from Rajasthan have signed up for the Indo-Nepal Mount Everest Civil Service expedition slated to be held early next year.

Bhagchand Soni,an officer in the education department who is involved with the International Himalayan Environment Trust,approached the officers,who eagerly came on board. “We held talks with Chief Secretary of Nepal and Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth. Both are enthusiastic about the expedition,” Soni said.

The six who have signed up are Rajsamand collector Pritam B Yashwant,38; Bharatpur collector Niraj K Pawan,34; principal secretary,social justice,Manjit Singh,55; senior deputy director at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration in Mussoorie,Roli Singh,44; Managing Director,Skill and Livelihood Mission,Rajesh Yadav; and Sub Divisional Magistrate,Bikaner,Vikram Jindal. “We are checking if officers from other states too wish to join,” Soni said.
