Winters almost on its way out and the pleasant sun outside is probably reminding you of the pretty dresses and flirty tops that are languishing in your wardrobe. If you are looking to set your summer wardrobe in place, opt for a lot of sheers in monochromes, one of the strongest spring-summer trends for 2009.
Designer Rajesh Pratap Singh came up with a wearable collection at Paris Fashion Week last year, which used organic fabrics like cotton and organza. The whole focus was on contrasting sheerness with opacity. These fabrics were ideal to emphasise the drapes and the monochromes helped play them up, said Singh, post his well-acclaimed show.
Designer brands like Just Cavalli have used sheer fabrics, and back in India,at the spring-summer 2009 fashion weeks, there were other designers who gave it an interesting spin. Varun Bahl continued his love story with sheers. He used silk nettings on for dresses,in colours like duck-egg blue and salmon pink. Anamika Khanna came up with opaque bodysuits with zardozi details and embroidery.
