JD(U) president Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said there was “not even a remote chance of alliance with the Congress” in pre-poll or post-poll situation. He said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi being given major role in national politics was “purely an internal matter” of the BJP and an NDA PM candidate would be decided by NDA leaders at the appropriate time.

Asked about the JD(U) going soft on the Congress during the Delhi Adhikar rally,Yadav said: “We made our points strongly on our special category status demand. There was immediate response from the Centre. But no political meaning should be made out of it. There are not even remote chances of pre-poll or post-poll alliance with the Congress.”

Asked if the JD(U) would stick to its stand on the NDA declaring its PM candidate before LS elections, the JD(U) president said: “So far,it has been a precedent to announce NDA PM candidate before polls. All top NDA leaders will sit together and take a call on the matter at an appropriate time.”

He said Narendra Modi being made member of the BJP Parliamentary Board was an internal matter of the party and the JD(U) did not need to have any view on it.
