Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi Friday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and invited him to the NAM Summit to be hosted by Tehran in August.
Notwithstanding US pressure to scale down engagement with Tehran,India has made it clear that Iran is a key country for meeting its energy needs and sanctions wont impact its legitimate trade relations.
Such measures (sanctions) should not impact legitimate trade interests, Foreign Minister S M Krishna said on Thursday.
