Sachan death: CBI may book wardens

The CBI is likely to charge the head warden and a warden of the Lucknow district jail for destruction of evidence in the mysterious death of former deputy CMO Dr Y S Sachan on June 22 last year.

The agency is understood to have taken the decision on the basis of the findings of the polygraph tests conducted on the jail staff and forensic examination of the fingerprints collected from the spot where Sachan’s body was found.

Sources said during the polygraph test,it was found that the answers of head warden Babu Ram Dubey and warden Pahendra Singh were at variance from what they had told the CBI. Further,the forensic report stated there were fingerprints of Dubey and Pahendra,besides those of two other wardens found from the spot.
