Rs 3.92 cr for repair of link roads
In order to decongest the narrow stretch of Zirakpur-Patiala National Highway-64,which has earned the distinction of being a killer stretch with the heavy flow of vehicular traffic leading to accidents,Rs 460 crore has been released to four-lane the stretch.
Disclosing this on Thursday,Mohali District Planning Committee chairman N K Sharma said the work on the four-laning project will begin shortly,as the tenders have already been floated.
The development assumes significance as the highway connects Chandigarh,Mohali and Panchkula with major parts of Punjab,Haryana and Rajasthan.
Sharma said the state government has also released Rs 3.92 crore for repair of all those village links roads across Mohali district,which were damaged during the recent rains.
He said the tenders for all these projects have already been floated and work will begin soon.
