Rs 2 lakh aid for families of Orissa victims

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of two daily wagers from Orissa who were killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of two daily wagers from Orissa who were killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Prahlad Majhi and Chandrasekhar Majhi from Bamuni village in Nabrangpur district had gone to Chhattisgarh a month ago to work.

They were travelling in a truck along with Bina Majhi,Saru Majhi and Bhada Majhi of their area when they were caught in Maoists firing on the Congress convoy.

The other three were injured in the firing.
