Convicted Congress leader Rasheed Masood was Tuesday granted three months interim bail by the Delhi High Court on medical ground. Justice J R Midha granted the bail to Masood and also to former IPS officer Gurdayal Singh on the same medical ground. Masood was the first MP to lose his seat after the Supreme Court struck down a provision in the electoral law that protected a convicted lawmaker from disqualification on the ground of pendency of appeal in higher courts. The court asked both of them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each. Masood, who is undergoing four years imprisonment in a corruption case and other offences, has also challenged his conviction in the High Court, which is yet to be decided. The court had earlier asked Jail Superintendent to file the medical records of the accused who claims to be a heart and diabetes patient.
