The role of PMK founder S Ramadoss and his son and former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss is still under investigation in connection with a 2006 murder although an interim chargesheet filed by the CBI two days ago did not name them,CBI officials said on Wednesday.

The CBI filed an interim chargesheet in the murder of Muruganandam,who was killed in an attack by alleged PMK cadres on AIADMK leader and now minister C Ve Shanmugam in Dindigul on the eve of the Assembly polls,before a magistrate on Monday. The chargesheet named 21 persons as accused,including Ramadoss’s brother Srinivasan alias Seeni Gounder,former PMK headquarters secretary and Shanmugam’s rival candidate in that election N M Karunanithi and N R Raghu,an alleged member of the gang that staged the attack who was later found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Further investigations are continuing to probe the role of others named in the FIR including S Ramadoss,Anbumani Ramadoss,his son-in-law Parasuraman and grandson Pritheeban,said CBI officials. If there were any further developments,supplementary chargesheet would be filed,they added.
