The RJD,which had been lying low since the conviction of party chief Lalu Prasad, went into jubilation mode Friday after the Supreme Court granted bail to him. Party workers burst fire crackers and distributed sweets to celebrate the news, and Lalu’s aides left for Ranchi to complete the formalities before his release from jail.

Lalu was, however, not released from the Birsa Munda jail Friday since a copy of the bail order from the Supreme Court never reached the CBI court in which he was tried.

Former CM and Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi said the party would soon chalk out political plans under Prasad’s leadership. “Wait for Lok Sabha elections,Nitish Kumar’s party would be relegated to the fifth position,” she said.
