Unfazed by the ongoing global meltdown that has hit airlines worldwide,Doha-based carrier Qatar Airways revealed its foray into two more Indian cities while also adding a daily service to Houston from Mumbai via Doha the airlines hub. The airlines regional manager for India Naveen Chawla said Qatar Airways is set to increase frequencies to select destinations on its global network because the carrier does not rely on a single market but a host of different markets because of its hub-and-spoke structure. Services to Amritsar and Goa will begin by the winter schedule this year and the Mumbai-Doha-Houston is all set to begin from March 30th. The carrier has planned to add six new routes by end of this year.
