The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre to constitute an expert panel to provide medical help to conjoined twins Saba and Farah Saleem from Bihar while observing that “the acute agony of the girls would shock anybody’s conscience”.

A Supreme Court Bench issued notices to both the Centre and the Bihar government and sought assistance from Attorney General G E Vahanvati on a PIL petition by Aarushi Dhasmana,a second-year law student from Pune.

The SC said the team shall include Dr Benjamin Carson,a leading American specialist on conjoined twins, working here at Apollo Hospital, and other experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
