LAST week,Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel appeared to be in a tearing hurry. While the Parliament session was on,Patel was jet-setting all over the country, inaugurating terminal buildings at different airports. Records showed that he inaugurated at least half-a-dozen buildings at airports from Kashmir to Goa in places like Indore,Visakhapatnam and Raipur. Like some of his other Cabinet colleagues,he too was racing against the model code of conduct, expected to be in place very soon. Before the code restricts him,Patel wanted the inaugural curtains off these projects. To his credit,he still found time in between and managed the passage of the amendments to the Air Carriage Bill.
