Taken aback by the sordid affairs at Satyam Computers, the Orissa government has put a hold on the IT major’s request for additional land for ramping up its operations in Orissa.

Satyam employs about 460 employees at its Bhubaneswar centre in Infocity I,the IT park spread over 350 acres houses in the city housing companies like Infosys,Wipro,TCS and MindTree. The company which started its operations in 1999 in the first flush of IT wave was planning to ramp its operations in the city and wanted a patch of seven-eight acres for the second development centre at Infocity II. The second IT park almost double the first one, would be spread over 671 acres on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

But after the murky revelations at Satyam, information technology department officials are now hesitant to process the request of Satyam.
