Neiphiu Rio sworn in as Nagaland CM for 3rd time

Neiphiu Rio,63,was on Tuesday sworn in for a third straight term as CM of Nagaland along with 11 ministers by Governor Nikhil Kumar at the Raj Bhavan

Neiphiu Rio,63,was on Tuesday sworn in for a third straight term as CM of Nagaland along with 11 ministers by Governor Nikhil Kumar at the Raj Bhavan here. All the ministers were from his own party,the Naga People’s Front. NPF had won 38 seats in the 60-member house.

The NPF is supported by the BJP and the JD(U),which has one MLA each. It also has unconditional support of seven independents.

The ministers sworn-in also include Imkong L Imchen,who was home minister in the earlier ministry. He was arrested on February 18 after the police recovered Rs 1.10 crore in cash,arms and ammunition allegedly from his car in Wokha district. He had subsequently resigned.
